Mercy

Give ear, O God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For your sake, O my God, do not delay because your city and your people bear your Name. Daniel 9:18-19 NIV

Are there times when you feel this world is just falling apart? Or that our nation is ripping at the seams? Our towns aren't a safe place to live? Our families are crumbling?

The desolation at times is very close to home. Everything seems to be going well then we're hit with an illness, a death in the family, drugs, alcoholism, loss of a job, loss of a home...the list goes on. We may not know where to turn when everything seems to be falling apart.

Where do we turn when there seems no where to turn? Do we keep trudging through the mess? Do we continue to feel empty and alone?

There is a solution. It may not happen instantly. Maybe we think we are to far gone to even be helped. We've messed up to bad, there is no way God would even consider helping me.

We don't have to be righteous to come to God. There isn't anything to bad for God to fix. God is merciful and forgiving. He's just waiting for us to seek Him. He can restore the world, our nation, our towns, our families and us. We just have to be willing to call on His name and receive His mercy.
